Kevin Wilson – Reserve Manager at Gibraltar Point, UK

Our trip to Costa Rica was booked in summer 2019 with Alfredo who organised our itinerary and guided us throughout.

The 4 of us from the UK spent 14 days in Costa Rica from 07 to 21 March 2020, visiting most of the regions of the country and walking several kilometres per day in mostly forested or semi open habitats. We also took a coastal river boat trip and made 2 visits to the Pacific coast.
The accommodation and locations were superb, as was the food and drink. Alfredo was great company and demonstrated remarkable skills in finding and locating birds by call, observation and knowledge of their habitats. Alfredo also displayed an impressive knowledge of Costa Rican ecology in general.
He also quickly tuned into our birding style and humour and we all had a great time and agreed it was a fabulous experience. Our final tally was 434 bird species, 16 mammals, 4 amphibians and 9 reptiles as well many butterflies and dragonflies.
A truly memorable trip and we highly recommend Alfredo if you want the best of Costa Rica’s wildlife experience.

Many thanks Alfredo (Top Man!)
